Baumspage Mobile Wrestling - Split Session Options

With the current COVID-19 Precautions we added two options for Split Sessions:
  1.  The first requires no special setup.  Simply correct rosters and seed & draw the weight classes for the first session.
    1. During the Seed & Draw process, select Start This Event.
    2. Print brackets and enter results for the weight classes in the session.
    3. When ready, switch to the other weight classes,
    4. Run each set as desired.
  2. If you want to split into two sessions that will be run simultaneously on two separate computers:
    1. The tournament can be split into Lower and Upper weights or whatever split works for the tournament.
    2. The two separate sessions will both function independently.
      1. The user can select weight classes for each session.
      2. Each session can be drawn and results entered and posted separately..
      3. The results and brackets will be posted with -Lower and -Upper appended to the link names.
      4. Each session can be wrestled to completion before merging together to post final results.
      5. Or several rounds of each can be completed before merging to together for the final rounds.
    3. After the merge, all team scores, brackets, and match results be listed as one "normal" tournament.
  3. To activate a Split Site tournament, use Event Setup | Adjust Seeding/Scoring Settings | Special Event Options | change slider to YES | click OK
  5. Correct rosters or click the I'm ready to Seed and Draw button.
  6. You can split before drawing or draw and then split.
  7.  When ready to split, click the Split This Event button on the Seeding & Drawing screen.
    1. Select the weight classes for each session and click Split Now.
    2. After the split, the pop-up will show links to the two splits.
      1. Select the link for Session 1 and the tournament will reload with the split appended to the Event Name.
      2. After refreshing, the two links will be added on the bottom (right) of the Manage Data screens.
    3.  Essentially there are two separate tournaments until you finish the session.
      1. Run Session 1 - Lower as normal for the weight classes selected.
        1. The brackets and results will post automatically if you are connected to the internet and logged-in
        2. If you are only wrestling some of the rounds, make sure you Sync Event Data to Server and Backup/Save Current Data before shutting down!
        3. If you finish, use Generate Results and select Post All to Baumspage to finalize it.
        4. Always use Manage Data | Sync Event Data to Server Now and Backup/Save Current Data.
      1. To run Session 2 - Upper on a separate computer.
        1. Use Manage Data | Open the link to SESSION 2 and seed/draw it.
        2. Use Manage Data | Merge in Split Data | select the Session 1 link
        3. All of the completed Session 1 Brackets, Results, and Scores will import automatically.
        4. Run the tournament as normal and finish the tournament.
    4. If you are doing only a few rounds in each split and merging them together for the finals:
      1. Complete the rounds each Session that will be merged together.
      2. Use Manage Data | Sync Event Data to Server Now and Backup/Save Current Data to generate backups if needed.
      1. Then use Manage Data | Check Server for Merge Data | if both are listed click Merge Event Data Together | click Ok to accept merge.
      2. After the merge, click Event Page & Results link in the Manage Data module.

      3. Confirm that both the 202? Brackets and 202? Results contain the complete tournament data.
      4. If so, use the Manager Table on the event page | click Upload Files Show/Hide
    1. Complete the tournament as normal.
      1. Use Generate Results | Is this Event Complete? | check the "I certify box ...." | Post Final Results to Baumspage to finalize the tournament.
